Offload Your Rails Assets to S3 and CloudFront with asset_id Jump to Story

If you pay attention to Google's Page Speed and Yahoo's YSlow, then you know it's best to serve your CSS, Javascript, and image assets from a cookieless CDN. The quickest solution for this, of course, is Amazon's S3 and CloudFront. But, you'll quickly learn that the default asset cache-busting technique used by Rails just doesn't work here. So now, there's asset_id by Richard Taylor to the rescue.
